Polynesian Farm to Body Care
Hawaiian māmaki-based minimalist skincare + tea line
Mamaki is a native Hawaiian stingless nettle known for its high antioxidant value, mainly used as a healing tea in ancient and modern Hawaiian culture. Mamaki berries were traditionally used for sores and wounds, but the topical benefits of mamaki were unavailable on the market. As farmers and holistic healers, we combined our knowledge and intuition to infuse mamaki into our natural skincare products & tea blends, so you can experience its therapeutic effects.
We are honored to be the only skincare company that features the beautiful and nourishing māmaki plant.

What is Māmaki?
Māmaki is pronounced maah-mah-key and spelled with the kahakō, the macron, which lengthens the vowel. The kahakō has been omitted in some places due to searchability for the non-Hawaiian speaking audience and technical issues on some fonts that are used on this website, but the proper way to spell it is always with the kahakō, just like on our logo.
Māmaki Pipturus albidus is a stingless nettle that only grows in the Hawaiian Island chain. It has co-evolved with one of two native butterfly species, pulelehua (a.k.a. Kamehameha butterfly), who favors mamaki as its host plant to lay its eggs. Adult pulelehua (males) drink the sap of the koa tree, so a healthy native forest includes both koa and mamaki. As deforestation by humans have occurred, less and less mamaki and therefore the pulelehua are being seen in the wild. However, with the recent popularity of mamaki as a healthy tea product, many family-owned farms have been established on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. Our māmaki comes from our own natural farm as well as from organic farms we partner with here on Hawaiʻi Island. The more mamaki there is, the more we can restore habitat for the pulelehua.
Every ingredient we use is thoroughly researched, sourced, and expertly combined into a soothing formulation by a certified aromatherapist, herbalist, and holistic health practitioner.
